Summer of Science
Environmental Exploration!
The Arundel Rivers Summer of Science is a place-based environmental education program designed to provide quality, hands-on science exploration to campers across our watersheds! By partnering with established camps, such as YMCA Camp Letts, the Marshall Hope Corporation, and the West River United
Methodist Center, we are able to reach a wide range of youth ages 6-14 in familiar topics within our watershed. The largest themes we explore throughout the summer include an introduction to the watershed, runoff, erosion, native plants, invasive plants, water quality, and stream health. Participants of the program will investigate these environmental phenomena that are experienced in their area with activities tailored to their education level.
Each camper leaves Arundel Rivers' Summer of Science with the ability to enact meaningful change within our watershed, whether through habitat creation or sharing their knowledge, they are the newest recruits in our fight for clean water.
