Our Volunteer Philosophy.

At Arundel Rivers, we want our community members to love our watersheds as much as we do. Our volunteer philosophy is to empower community members of all ages and abilities to do one good thing: plant a tree, sow a seed, monitor a site, reach out to a neighbor.

We want to help every interested individual do volunteer activities that speak to their passions and abilities. Do you have an idea for how we can make volunteering more accessible? Do you have a tool, place, or activity that helps you engage with our watersheds? Let us know by emailing mairin@arundelrivers.org.

Inspired to volunteer? Be sure to join our upcoming volunteer trainings! We’ll be having a general training on March 28 in Annapolis, where we’ll be diving into each of our volunteer programs and brainstorming new ways to engage community members, and an underwater grass monitoring training on April 12. Interested? Email your RSVP to mairin@arundelrivers.org.

From Our Friends around the Watershed.

Check out a few upcoming events and opportunities from our partners across the watershed. If you’re interested in learning, working, hiking, or more, these opportunities are for you!

From the Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy:

Ann-ual Day of Maintenance

Saturday, April 11

This Ann-ual event was created to honor the legacy and impact of Class 1 Watershed Steward Ann Jackson. Ann was a maintenance marvel, and what better way to remember her than gathering together to get our hands dirty!

Join us at J. Albert Adams Academy in Annapolis at 9am for a morning of maintenance, followed by lunch at noon.

This event is open to all so please share!

From Scenic Rivers Land Trust:

Save the Date! The annual Walk for the Woods will be Saturday, May 2. Walk for the Woods is Scenic Rivers Land Trust's signature community event celebrating the joy of the outdoors and our local, protected woods.

This beloved spring event is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville (rain date is Sunday, May 3, 2026).

If you join the 10am Hike for All Ages, you’ll get to trek with Arundel Rivers’ own Mairin Corasaniti!
